TogetherAgain was created by cousins Ami Korda and Dave Sherry.  Our mothers are identical twins, and we had the same due date. As a result, we jokingly refer to ourselves as half twins. Ami grew up and lives in Israel; Dave grew up and lives in the US.  Our connection has given us visibility into the other’s Jewish experience – both the Israeli and Diaspora. Over the last twenty or so years, we’ve watched as our respective communities have drifted further and further apart.  Since the war began, we have sensed for the first time a deep desire on both sides to reconnect.

At the same time, we have personally experienced the power of that reconnection. When Ami went back to the army on October 8th and his unit faced adversity and loss, Dave was there to support. Similarly, as Dave was struggling with fear and anger at the world’s reaction, Ami invited him to visit, meet soldiers, and feel hope once again. The depth of connection has been essential to not just surviving this moment but thriving in it.

Inspired by each other and by the friends and families we see seeking to connect, we formed TogetherAgain. We deeply believe that community can deliver us from this moment stronger just as it has throughout Jewish history. We invite you to join us on this journey to recovery and impact.
